Winnipeg Plant

Winnipeg’s Pipe manufacturing operation has been serving Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Northwestern Ontario since 1949. Originally our plant was located on St. Joseph’s Street in old Saint Boniface. Our operations initially supplied 100 mm, 150 mm, 200 mm, and 305 mm diameter pipe, which was manufactured on a Woodstock Machine.

In 1957, we purchased two more machines and expanded our capabilities to produce pipe up to 2700 mm in diameter. In the fall of 1979, having outgrown our current site, the plant was relocated to its present location at 185 Dawson Road, in the St. Boniface Industrial Park. At that time, a Vihi and Hydro Tile machine were added to the plant to supply the increasing demand for concrete pipe.

Winnipeg’s pipe plant was owned and operated by Supercrete Ltd., for 33 years. In 1982, Lafarge Canada Inc. purchased Supercrete and built the business to what it is today. To remain the industry’s leader, Lafarge invests in both its operations and staff to ensure its commitment of supplying quality products and services to clients.
