The
Lafarge Stormceptor System is
a patented design stormwater interceptor for the
treatment of stormwater and most wastewater applications.
Stormceptor removes suspended
solids and hydrocarbon contaminants from drainage
before discharging into receiving waters or municipal
sewer systems. These pollutants are then stored
for safe and easy removal. Under normal conditions,
stormwater flows into the bypass chamber, is diverted
by a contoured weir down a pipe, and into the
"separation/holding" chamber. This downward
flow is directed, by right angled outlets, around
the circular walls of the chamber, and flows horizontally
to the outlet pipe. Above and below this throughflow,
oil and sediment accumulate in relative quiescence.
Stormceptor
has proven fine and course sediment removal of
up to 85% and up to 98% removal of petroleum pollutants.
Stormceptor is unique in that
it contains an internal highflow bypass which
prevents the scouring, re-suspension and flushing
out trapped pollutants in peakflow events.
Stormceptor's
proven effectiveness has led to increased demand
for the product, as Environmental Agencies, Municipalities
and Industry are realizing the harmful effects
polluted stormwater has on our environment.
