Prebenched bases requiring connectors for 675mm and larger pipe are available in 1500 and 1800mm prebenched
bases. Please inquire about details and pricing.
Lot service openings at manholes are not provided unless specified. Only cored holes are offered for smaller than 150mm pipe.
New Prebench Design
Since opening our new Edmonton facility in 2007 we have introduced new methods for prebenched base production:
Prebenched bases are produced from stock (standard height) manhole barrels*.
Barrel penetrations are individually cored or scarred to match design specifications.
Prebench, requiring manhole boots, have 'PSX: Direct Drive' rubber connectors mechanically torqued into barrel opening(s).
Channels matching the intended pipe diameters are cast into the wet concrete benching and finished to ensure positive directional flow.
The rubber fitting requires take up clamp(s) to be torqued in the field to compress the incoming pipe to the connector.
Tee handled torque wrenches are available from Lafarge.
